Monday, Monday, Monday....
Just a short note to let you all know that I am still American at heart – I watched the Super bowl yesterday:).
Someone had to make the chocolate chip cookies:)… Anyway, Super bowl was good some good plays, but I just didn’t have a strong enough alliance to make it as great as the Orange Bowl.
I still can't believe the lead singer for the Rolling Stones is 65. I am sorry that is no way for a 65 year old to act or look, he must eat many preservatives! Jen some reason I could hear you making comments in the back of my head….
Things have been rather weighty here lately, just a lot going on I guess and frustrating to do so little. Anyway not here to depress.
Tasha and I had a GREAT morning Saturday. After mass, we snuck into Cayo for breakfast, to check email and run to the market. Tash played photographer for a bit, so for the first time, I have proof that I have been to San Ignacio. Funny how things become such a part of life and then when it is about to change you realize everyone has a rather different view of your life. Anyway took them to share, but left the cable at home today….
The funniest part of the morning though was Tasha and I like true hermanninn carnivores were craving meat. We attempted and actually did hold out for the kebab place to serve lunch (really neat place, grilled meat, grilled tortilla (um pita:)?) and some veggies). We almost made it to 11AM when they were supposed to start, had them warm up the grill while munching on some bus stop plantain chips. They said it would take 20 min, and we had the best lunch an hour later (um that wasn’t a typo):).
My dad says patience is a virtue, humph, something to work on…
Afterwards we just ran to the market, no one fell in mud, made a new friend or anything!
Tahsa did meet the Prime Minister in the afternoon, attributes to her flashing clothing, check out her blog for details…
Shucks, it has been so long since I wrote I haven't even written about Friday afternoon (I guess I have left out all the details of life lately…)!
I went into Guatemala, Melchore, such a blast – probably just because I had the best possible chaperone:)! She kept me good and safe, helped me buy mascara (Spanish problems!), went to the grocery, and the bakery with the dairy-free cookies!!!! Then relaxed at a beautiful little restaurant with a vexed (brahava – sp?) beer:). This was the best, I even got to drive. Yep that was me cursing around Guatemala.
Okay I must run, another minute in the bookstore and I will …….
Working on training someone all day.
Love and prayers (hope those go both ways:))
