a prayer for beth's dad, please!

okay all, maybe this isn't blog appropriate, but i have a major major request.

my incredible friend, Beth Williams, (almost a sister) Father, Mark, had a bad stroke yesterday.
He is currently on life support.
So, please, please, please say some super strong prayers, both her and her wonderful family are so dear to my heart!

if i was a hermanin were would i be...

First off, please forgive any weird typing! i am on a computer in Guatemala where all the letters are taped onto the keyboard and my blog site will not switch from German to English...

Wonder why I am in Guatemala? since the zoo didn't work out last weekend, Tasha and i started our adventure a little earlier and aimed a little farther. Friday was Chastity morning for the Standard 5 students at the Primary. i showed about 60 11-13 year old girls the Jason Evert video and talked to them about chastity, modesty and a bit on self-respect and esteem.

eek! my darn multi tasking, switch to typing an email and now am out of time, must grab my sista and sneak off, but i promise an explanation for why i am in Flores soon. pretty much we just needed a quiet place to relax, have good food (yeah black beans) and space and quiet. arrived yesterday afternoon and it has been terrific!!!!!! everything down to an unheard of afternoon nap! i didn't even need ear plugs and it was daytime. quite a novelty.

okay love and prayers and stories of a weekend of thanks to make-up for a busy Thansgiving day!

if you dont hear from me before please say a prayer tomorrow afternoon, showing the Jason Evert video and talking about the Chastity stuff to standard 6 girls.

i love you all!

weee... wednesday

okay here is a bit of a start at the update i always promise, but never quite provide - no guarantee on completeness… i am currently a bit distracted by the delivery of literally hot, fresh creole bread.
(i am with tasha at the computer lab at the primary and the secretary arranged for a special batch of dairy-free!!!!! and this is a special delivery) i love having tasha here! having another dairy-free chicka means there is someone to share all those things that just didn’t seem worth the time in the past. we have the same appreciation level:)

anyway, as for the day before turkey day 2005, as you can tell by my ability to email i bowed out.
i just returned last thursday night from a six night stay at Santa Familia, the old and completely empty monastery about 10 miles away in Santa Elina. anyway, it provided much need rest and prayer time that my body, mind and spirit were demanding. i had my own bedroom, kitchen and chapel - i came back on fire with energy; facing all that was postponed is the only drawback! so i will try and fill you only with the fun highlights....

wednesday is childrens mass morning in the church, and imagine how fun a mass with a mass of infant students (age 4-5). you get to shout all the responses in spanish as well as stand on the kneeler and do hand motions during the songs and answer questions during the homily. as you may imagine the energy of those kids combined with the sandwich of anne on the right, the high school campus minister, and peter, a teacher at the high school, on the left, leaves me with quite the grin. one of the questions during the homily was "is Jesus in the three teachers in the back" (we were learning about christ being present in each of us) - the response was all the kids shouting "si" and looking at us while we proudly waved:). the kids here are so so so so so so so precious.

i was a bit down and trying to book it down the road to make it back to the church for an appointment a bit grumpy and frenzified this afternoon and this random little girl that i had never even seen before with her little pink backpack walked up to me, totally perplexed, wrapped her arms around my thighs and gave me a hug. her little head didn’t even make it up to my waist. then she said good bye and ran down the street. such an angle and such uplift!

well, i just received the 5 minute warning, so before i actually get into anything really interesting, or give myself a headache trying to figure what that might me, i better get out of here.

okay this is funny, i promised my parents i would come home DECEMBER 20th (yee haw!) super healthy, so yesterday i went to the lab, i wondered if after the labbie looked at everything except a snot sample he knew more about me that i did:) he still looked me in the eye, so i guess if so I'm not too bad:)

love and prayers to all
